 "description": "The recent Cincinnati Historic Inventory represents the compilation of four separate surveys (Phase I, Phase II, Phase III, and Phase IV) by the City of Cincinnati\u2019s Historic Conservation Office (HCO).   The inventory provides an update to the Cincinnati Historic Inventory conducted in 1978. \nThe ODOT Office of Environmental Services (ODOT-OES) recommends utilizing the results of the HCO inventory when scoping Phase I/Phase II History/Architecture Surveys that include areas surveyed by the HCO.  Future surveys should also take into consideration: \n\tInformation which may elevate a property previously recommended not eligible to eligible; \n\tAlterations that diminish the property\u2019s historic integrity; \n\tProperties that have turned 50 years of age or older since the HCO surveys were conducted; and, \n\tProperties that have been removed since they were surveyed by the city.\nODOT-OES compiled data from each survey to create a database. The database includes: location information; name of resource, OHI number (if applicable);   NRHP status (e.g. listed on the NRHP/eligible for inclusion in the NRHP as a result of Section 106 consensus determinations); and, NRHP eligibility recommendations resulting from the HCO survey.  \nThe database was modeled after the ODOT Transportation Information Mapping System (TIMS).   The intent is to provide ODOT-Office of Environmental Services (ODOT-OES) staff, ODOT District 8 staff, project sponsors and consultants access to HCO survey results in an accessible and understandable format.  The database created by ODOT-OES and the ODOT Office of Technical Services (ODOT-OTS) is intended to: \n\tStreamline the scoping process; \n\tFacilitate the identification of architectural properties which may require additional consideration early in the project development process; and, \n\tTake into consideration the recommendations made by the HCO, a Certified Local Government and a Section 106 consulting party in accordance with 36 CFR 800.*\n*The results of the HCO survey are not formal determinations of NRHP eligibility and are not intended to replace the Ohio State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) GIS records check requirement or Section 106 consultation.\n",
